Freeze plugs. More likely that hoses are leaking or thermostat housing is leaking. Freeze Plugs generally NEVER leaks unless engine block has had frozen coolant in it. Hence, Freeze Plugs.
With the freeze plug out it will be impossible to keep water and coolant in the engine as it will all leak out through the freeze plug hole. The engine will over heat and self destruct after a while.
Low engine coolant or ineffective coolant. Add or replace anti freeze
No ( not unless you want to wreck the engine ) If the freeze plug is " blown " than the engine coolant will just pour out
The freeze plug on a 1998 Ford Taurus is located on the front of the engine block. It prevents the engine from cracking should the coolant freeze.
when the engine is cool, check the anti-freeze level. it may be low.
There should not be a coolant drain on the engine block. You are probably looking at a freeze plug which should NOT be removed. The freeze plugs where openings for the original production/casting of the engine block and are sealed.
there are freeze plugs on side of engine if the leak is at the front, check to see if coolant is leaking from water pump and running down to bottom of engine
A bad freeze plug will leak coolant and cause the engine to overheat.
coolant/anti-freezeYES, BUT ALL ANTI-FREEZE IS NOT THE SAME YOU NEED TO CHECK YOUR OWNERS MANUAL TO SEE WHICH TYPE YOU NEED. The words are sometimes used interchangeably. However, if you live in an equatorial country, your coolant is more likely to be water. I.E., Engine coolant is any liquid that cools the engine by dissipating the coolant temperature through the engine's radiator.
Anti freeze 50/50
The RX8 takes standard anti-freeze.
