Park, reverse, neutral, Drive and low
You can't drive in neutral. If you mean tow it, not over 30-35 mph and not for more than 10-15 miles. The transmission will heat up and not be able to cool down.
The transmission will only shift from 1st gear into second gear. It will not shift into 3rd, 4th or overdrive. Generally, temporarily used for pulling a heavy load like pulling a boat out of the water.
Does this vehicle have a floor shifter? With a button within easy reach of your thumb while your hand is on the shifter? Or is it a column shift, and is there a button on the end of the shift knob? If it is the floor shift model, I believe this is a light that indicates you have entered into 'manual shift' mode. Which means you can shift your automatic transmission manually from first gear through to third or fourth(overdrive). If you have this button, push it and see if the 'MANU' light goes off. If it does, you will now be operating in automatic mode and can simply put it in DRIVE and go. If you put it in DRIVE while MANU is lit, and the car feels sluggish and underpowered, it is because you are in manual mode and starting out from a stop in third or fourth gear...which would be reason enough to think your car may be lazy. Hope this helps.
If your car won't drive over 5 miles an hour, it needs to be repaired.
Low gear
It is the transmission gear selector. P = Park R = Reverse N = Neutral D = Drive 3 = Third Gear 2 = Second Gear L = Low Gear or First Gear Park, Reverse, Neutral, Drive, Third Gear, Second Gear, Low Gear
well i'd have to know what you mean by a "gear drive". axle? ring and pinion? steering gear? driveshaft?
Incorrect gear ratio in first gear.Incorrect gear ratio in first gear.
over-drive... take it its an auto On the gear selector handle, there is a button. Pushing that button will turn the Over drive off (light is on) or turn it on (light is off). This allows it to leave 3rd gear, and will put less wear on the engine and transmission at a speed of about 45 or higher.
"Auto fahren" is to drive an automobile.
I put into drive or try reverse and theshifter won't go into gear.
specify "not go into drive" does that mean it stalls or?
Park, reverse, neutral, Drive and low
Its how u shift up and down thru the gears... eg. + = up a gear - = down a gear
if you mean auto as in automobile it was German Engineer Karl Benz ( of Mercedes-Benz) it was a 3 wheel single gear 2 wheel drive straight-1 direct injection vehicle and was mounted underneath a bench-type seat made of wood and fit for 2 people
The " D " is the drive position so the transmission ( transaxle ) only uses the first ( 3 ) gears and not the overdrive gear ( the 4th gear ) that you normally get if you select the " D " with the circle around it
