wal mart contracts to local dairies and farms for beef/meat products, and dairy products. they also get their great value bread and spring/distilled/drinking water form local sources. their Great Value spaghetti sauce though, is made by Prego (or Ragu i cannot remember right this moment) and some other great value products are made by other national companies. I know my wal mart's bread was just switched from a Sara Lee contract to Franz.

Answer Not only is Walmart good for America but it's good for any country that they decide to open up in. I'm Canadian, there are as many walmart stores in Canada as I can count. They have great savings, but like any other store, you have to watch their sales as they aren't in business to loose money. Their savings are great and the offer competition to existing stores to help keep prices down. On an employ level they stink.
