Lincoln and Martin Luther King were both equally important in establishing official equal rights for coloured people. Lincoln went to war with the Southern USA in order to end slavery and emancipate the negro races- Martin Luther King led a peaceful campaign to ensure that black people had the same civil rights enshrined in law as white people do. Rosa Parks probably ranks less highly than Lincoln or King, but she very bravely set a precedent for non-violent civil disobedience to racist segregation. However, if she hadn't done it, then it's inevitable that somebody somewhere would have eventually did what she did, by the law of averages.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. did not abolish slavery - by the time he was born, the slavery of blacks in the U.S. was already illegal. The Thirteenth Amendment put an end to slavery on December 18, 1865, when Abraham Lincoln was president.
Martin Luther is the creator of Lutheranism. Martin Luther King was named after Martin Luther. Martin Luther King Jr. was named after his father, Martin Luther King. Nobody's name was changed.
