Hello,
I found the info you want but it is impossible for me to explain because I am learning about these trucks myself.
I bought a 1984 B2000 workshop manual from Mazda for around $17.00 and it has full instruction for everything for your truck including a full teardown.
The information you want on Chapter 5: page 10 It has full pictures and exploded view of starting motor and solenoid.
I wish I could be more of a help because I DO know the frustration. I am going through it myself with a part that I can't find what it does. I even put up a site to ask for help.

Good luck on your B2000 because if you can keep it running, it's a great little truck.

Your vehicle has a starter solenoid which is piggy back on the starter.
check your wiring, if all your wiring is good then test your ignition relay, if its not the starter, not the battery, and not the wiring there's only one thing left. Good Luck with the repair
The 1995 Nissan truck starter relay switch is located in the fuse box. The starter relay switch will be in the third column.
Since the starter is good but will not turn the engine over when hot, check the engine for free rotation. Turn the engine over by moving the crank by hand (with the ignition off.) The engine could be sticking when hot and not be able to turn over.
I hate Dodges!! I dodge them every chance I get! LOL!! Now really.. Disconnect the negative (or positive) battery cable. You don't want to short anything out. Take the wires loose from the starter (there are small nuts that hold the wires on) and then the support bolts. It's really a pretty simple matter. Just make sure you have something soft to lay on while you are under there.
The starter solenoid is mounted directly on the starter.
The starter solenoid is attached to the starter.
The starter solenoid? Attached to the starter. Round thing, wires, etc.
On the starter if 1 pos cable or midway if you have 2 pos cables & is remote mounted between.
Your starter solenoid is the ropund part attached to the top of your starter it has the little wire to trigger the starter drive to engage the flexplate and a big battery wire to spin it hope this answers you question
Your starter solenoid is sticking. Replace the starter solenoid and you should be good to go.

Assuming you are referring to the starter solenoid which is on... the starter. In fact, it's a part of the starter. If the solenoid goes bad just replace the entire starter, the whole thing is probably worn out anyway.
The starter solenoid may be bad. On a Chevrolet, it's integrated with the starter so you will have to remove the entire assembly (should be 2 9/16" bolts going up and unhook the 3 wires going to the starter, then take it to any auto store and get it tested and if necessary replaced.
The starter solenoid is built onto the starter itself. It is a dual action solenoid applying energy (12 volts) to both the starter and the Bendix. There is also a starter relay located on the fender well just beneath the left hood henge. In addition to this, will be a manual type switch controlled by a push-rod from the ignition key switch. this unit is located on the steering column under the dash and applies energy to the start relay, which energizes the starter solenoid, Bendix and the starter itself.
Ford Pickup Starter Solenoid LocationOn my 1989 and 1993 F-150s the starter solenoid is mounted on the right "inner" fender about 6 or 8 inches "aft" of the battery. I suspect yours is there also.
i need to find where they hide the horn on my 2006 Chevrolet half ton pickup.
