The voltage regulator is inside the alternator.
If you have a 400 ci, the horse power was down to 250 with a 4 barrel carb.

If you are asking this type of a question, then I have to recomend that you don't do it yourself. Take it to Wal-Mart, or where ever, and let them change it. Firstly, You have to get under the car to change the oil. Secondly, changing the oil in any car almost always makes a mess, missing the catch pan, or dropping the drain plug in the catch pan, or whatever. The reason I said the above is that 6000's came with 2 engines. Althou one is fairly simple to change the oil on, the other is a complete pain. The simple 3.1/2.8 have a drain plug on the bottom of the oil pan, which you simply unscrew (I believe its a 15mm wrench to get it off), MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A CATCH PAN IN PLACE!!!, and then you take the oil filter off the front of the motor, CATCH PAN AT THE READY AGAIN!!. Put the new oil filter on hand tight (as tight as you can by hand), and put the oil drain plug back in. Put oil in the engine, 4.5 quarts of 10w30 or 5w30 oil, clean up your mess, start it up, and you are pretty much done. However, the 2.5 engine can be a real pain. There are 2 different types of the 2.5. And in either case, don't even bother doing it yourself. There is a special tool needed to take the oil filter off. And these engine can make more of a mess then any other engine out there. In either case, once you change the oil, you still are not done. On a 90 6000 LE, and most other 6000's, there are 4 grease fitting on the front chasis that must be lubricated, there are 10 on the AWD model (I own one). Failure to lubricate these can lead to ball joint failure, or tie rod failure. Both fairly expensive to fix at a shop.

You could call your local auto parts store and they should know the answer to that one
You might want to go and look at some books at a Public Library.
It is next to the oil filter.
It is under the dash left side, lower the knee shield by removing the large screw on each side to see it.
On my '90 lemans, you have to remove two large headed black flathead screws on the panel below the steering column. That whole panel is hindged at the bottom and will flip down exposing the fuse box. Hope that helps.
No they dont. Althou some of the sister cars (Buick Century, Olds Cutlass Ciera) did.
It is the fuse for your Fan.
i found out its the heater coil needs to be replaced..thank you for your time
The Pontiac 6000 LE was a mid-size car produced in the 1980s. It featured a boxy design with four doors and was available in sedan and station wagon body styles. The exterior design had angular lines and typical 1980s styling features.
Noises are hard to diagnoise without hearing them. Take it to a garage.
Hey can anyone help us with this, I need an answer for this too, i have a 1981 Pontiac grand lemans automatic, and i cant locate the fusebox in the car, This would be alot of help, cause a fuse blew, and my deck wont turn on anymore, so i need to replace a fuse, and i cant, Any help appreciated. The answer to your question is your Fuse Box is located Driverside under dashboard right up in the corner of your left upper floor board beneath the dash. Just inches from your Emergency Brake!
