The ODBII connector is located on the passenger side of the center console, just beyond the console cover. You do not need to remove anything to plug in your diagnostic tool.

Remove the positive cable from your 2004 Honda CRV starter. Remove the cables from the front of the starter. Remove the starter retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new starter.

Yes , the 2000 Honda CRV has an interference engine ( according to Gates - they manufacture timing belts etc. )

I use Mobil 1 Synthetic Gear Lubricant LS 75W-90 in my 2003 Honda Crv.
10W-30 is recommended.
