Under the front bonnet, to the right of the engine bay. They are normally purple in colour and i think the fuel pump relay has a fused jumper wire beside it.
the fuel pump relay is located behind the plastics in the drivers (right) side footwell, you will need to remove the sill cover to remove the footwell plastic, then it will be mounted on a small bracket.
under the back seat at least it is for my opel astra 1.6 1996.My car had starting problems (it was recovered from a junk heap) I attributed it to clogging of fuel line.Later it refused to start.I then thought of cleaning the fuel delivery system.But on second thoughts I connected the pump terminal (red wire) directly to the battery and eureka the car roared into life!!!!!

A 2005 PT Cruiser does have a fuel pump relay. They have a fuel pump relay rather than a fuel pump switch. The fuel pump relay is located in the fuse box.
The main relay and the fuel pump relay are the same. Take the fuel pump relay and swap it with the main relay and see if that will help you....
