easiest and safest way to spray starter fluid is to spray it straight into air cleaner. you will not need to remove anything to do this and the engine will suk the fluid thru you really need to have the throttle body looked at ,as starter fluid is primarily for use in a diesel, not a gas engine
Not enough fuel is reaching the throttle body, check your fuel pressure it may be your pump going out.
Not getting any fuel.
try squirting some sarter fluid in air filter .if this starts engine and then dies, try it again. if engine will run as long as you squirt starter fluid ,the stop when starter fluid runs out, pretty much means you are not getting fuel. so you then need to check fuel filter, fuel pump injectors and injector pump until you find the problem
You don't. Starter fluid is a really good way to damage the motor inside because it created far more pressure than the motor is designed for. It's best to find and fix the problem rather than use the fluid. You would put starter fluid in the gas tank.
Starter fluid should be sprayed into the throttle body intake. Spray in small amounts, as the fluid is highly flammable. Any over spray could ignite if the engine backfires.
You can spray starter fluid directly into the air intake. You can also remove the cover to the air filter and spray it directly into the air filter.
In the carborator if you have one. Otherwise in the air intake.
In the intake. You can spray it directly on the air filter and it will be sucked into the intake.
Don't ever !!!!!
i tried it all it did was backfire still wouldnt start Spray the starter fluid into the air filter intake. If it backfires and will not start you have a problem that needs to be fixed.

In the throttle body were the filter is it should work.....
You really dont want to use starter fluid on a 91' because it can cause severe damage to your engine
most times starter fluid is sprayed through the air filter,if this is hard to get at you can disconnect one large air hose on engine side of air box and spray in there .remember to reattach hose after starting before driving off
Replace the fuel filter and then use a can of spray starter fluid to get it started.
I have a 1999 Yahama Blaster ATV. The ATV will only start when i spay starter fluid into the air filter, when i spray the starter fluid into the air filter it will only run for a short time. I have cleaned the carbraoter, and air filter seems to be in good working condition as well, the ATV also seems to have good compression.
