for a manual that you do not have, you need to contact the manufacturer and ask them for a copy. Sometimes you can find the manuals online, but usually the only sources you will find require you to purchase the information.
You can get the correct address from your local sewing machine repair or dealer.
I would try Ebay. Or you could do some Google searches. Maybe the Kenmore website has an area where you can order manual. I'm not sure you'll be able to find one for free anywhere though. Unless you happen to find one at a garage sale or something. Happy hunting.
I found the manual for theexact same model as yours at http://www.managemyhome.com//mmh/lis_pdf/OWNM/L0411039.pdf
Good luck.
You find the lever that will lift them. It is on the back of the arm of the machine.
It means that the sewing machine is the E1 model manufactured by Brother (the company). This would be helpful, for example, should you lose the manual and need to find it online, using the model.
Have the instruction book but does not mention so I have the machine and I would say same size as the singer but are metal OK ( bobbin ) Most Kenmore sewing machines (including this one) take class 15 bobbins which you can find at Joann's, Walmart, and most places that deal in sewing machines. They come in either plastic or metal.
i recently receivd a jc peney model 6101 serial 50325 sewig machin, no manual, it runs and sounds good. no manual, how can i get a copy of this manual also i can't find out why it sews zig zag and no straight sewing?
If you want to replace the needle on your sewing machine, you unscrew the thumbscrew behind and above the needle (with the presser foot down) and remove the old needle. Then hold the new needle under there with the point down and insert it into the slot. The slot is usually half round, half flat so you have to be sure the flat part of the needle matches the flat part of the slot. When it is in there, you just finger tighten the thumbscrew and you are ready to go.
do not no
Go to Searspartsdirect.com They have live people you can talk to as well. Diagrams, etc.
It probably does but I couldn't find an exact match for it on managemylife.com where you can get free copies of most kenmore manuals. I did find a manual for the Kenmore 153.13141 which shows the manual for the 1341 model kenmore. You might want to check and see if this is your machine or close to it. [I have this machine, and yes it does have a straight stitch. You simply set it to the zig zag stitch setting, and then set your stitch width to "0". It will then perform a straight stitch. -mmo)
You find the lever that will lift them. It is on the back of the arm of the machine.
I have a Kenmore 158.542 sewing machine that I bought new in Feb 1964. Now I need a nylon(?) part that I haven't been able to find. Suellen I was just gifted one. The production date on the manual says November of 1962.
Check at managemylife.com. They have many (but not all) of the Kenmore manuals for download there. If you don't find it there, you may have to buy a copy. Places to check are relics.com, sewusa.com, and ebay. Bekhat.
http://userguides.50webs.com/challenge_sewing_machine.html They carry the manual for every sewing machine ever manufactured.
where do I find a manual for a bernina 600

Visit the below link to enter your *model* number, then select the blue tab labled "Manuals", and then select the option to download the file. You can download a free owner's manual of any Sears Kenmore sewing machine model, but you first need to have the correct model number.PLEASE NOTE: 5188 is not the model #of the sewing machine; it is the model # of the motor. To locate the model number of the machine you will need to lift the machine (from the front) out of its base and tilt it back and away from you. Once the machine is tilted back a bit, you will be able to see a sticker on the machine that has the model and serial number. The model # will begin with 3 numbers, followed by a period and then some additional numbers. For example, my sears kenmore model # is 148.12030 (by the way, the numbers on the motor of my sewing machine is also 5188, as well as YM-40-3).
if you go to singer.com and put in the model # of the machine they will send you a book for $15.00. When I need manuals I use http://userguides.50webs.com/ They have alot of "hard to find " manuals and have almost every sewing machine manual known. Alot of sewing hobbyists use them. Good luck!
