The sounds lub and dub come from the valves in the heart: the Pulmanary and Aartic Valve. When these open and close the form a sort of sound, what is called a lub dub. Therefore, you can tell just about how fast your heart rate is just from listening for the lub dub. Which is what doctors do with a stethoscope.

Pretty Cool, huh? No not really, it's SCIENCE. Bleh. But u need it in life so be proud of yourself for being an educated person and not a dumb hobo living on the street. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Aren't I funny? You best say yes, or I willl come over to yo house and smack you. Dead serious here people.

PS: I'm fromTexas. I have the courage and the GUTS to do it. Watch Out! :D

The closing of both the bi- and tri- cuspid valves provide the lub sound while the closing of the pulmonary semi-lunar and aortic semi-lunar valves provide the dub sound.
