To frame a doorway for a new construction project, follow these steps: Measure and mark the location of the doorway on the wall. Use a framing square to mark the outline of the doorway on the wall. Cut the opening in the wall using a saw. Install a header above the doorway to support the weight of the wall. Install vertical studs on each side of the doorway. Add horizontal studs at the top and bottom of the doorway. Secure the frame with nails or screws. Check for level and plumb before proceeding with further construction.
