The city Xiamen is one of the biggest producers of commercial oil paintings, or decorative paintings, in China, together with Putian in the same province, and Shenzhen, in Guangdong province. 80% oil painting reproduction or portrait paintings on world-famous online art gallery are painted by our oil painters in China. So, it is ok to buy from China.
He did not. At an early age he painted porcelain in the porcelain factory of Limoges.
While Noritake does not offer appraisals for current or past products, the best way to estimate the value of your china is to search for "Noritake (pattern name here)" with a search engine. You'll generally get results from Replacements Limited, and the replacement value of your china is the best option for estimating the value.
Most likely there are many. One that I know of is Burnett. I have been looking for information about a painitng like this. It seems that Mexico and China make lots of reproductions of this type of painting.
Because it originated from ancient China.

There are many places where one can purchase Lefton china figurines. This includes ordering them directly from The Lefton Company, as well as sites such as eBay.
I'm guessing this should be Lefton China, not chia??? This company was started in 1941, so one would guess that those pieces marked "Made in occupied Japan" would be more valuable, since Mr. Lefton's Japanese friend helped him to start importing china from that country. Donna Stokes
There are several such sets being offered on e-Bay and other sites. Asking prices range from 9.99 to $99.99. I have such a set presently and am researching it. The discrepancies in prices are confusing.

I've actually been researching that teapot for awhile now (I have the full tea collection, except for that piece). Back in 2009, a Lefton Magnolia teapot sold online for appx $30 US. Recently, a full Lefton Magnolia set (4 cups, 4 saucers, 4 plates, creamer, sugar, and teapot) sold for about $40 US. The coffee pot for the Lefton Magnolia tea set (which is a taller, thinner version of the tea pot) was listed on Replacements.com for $80 US, but sold on ebay for only $15 US. I'm not an official appraiser, but since the value of something is only what someone is willing to pay for it, that should give you a good general idea. I encourage you to look online and research this for yourself (My entire set of 6 cups, 6 saucer snack plates, creamer, sugar, and coffee pot cost me less than $60 total so this pattern is not terribly valuable on the market right now). If you are looking to sell the teapot, please feel free to contact me and we can discuss prices. As I said, it is the only piece I am missing from my set and wouldn't mind paying a higher-than-value price just to complete it.wonderwoman5450@yahoo.com
