Arthritis Arthritis refers mainly to the degeneration or wearing out of a joint, but includes more then 100 different diseases that cause pain, stiffness, swelling, and damage to the joints. some forms of Arthritis can affect other organs of the body as well. The main forms of Arthritis are Osteoarthritis which is caused mainly by wear tear and trauma.

Rheumatoid arthritis which is a autoimmune disease. And gout which is caused by too much uric acid accumulating in the blood and pseudo gout can be the result of too much calcium building up in joints the exact root causes for most forms of arthritis is however not known.
