Yes. That means you are swimming downstream, not upwards. Think about it. :)
if it a koi fish then yes, to have one heading down stream is considered bad luckIt's not considered bad luck at all! It denotes the koi is travelling in the fall and should be shown with maple leaves rather than cherry blossoms. It can mean that you are trying to overcome any hardships.
when a koi fish swims upstream and makes it it turns into a magnificent dragon thus a koi fish swimming upstream symbolizes overcoming adversity and realizing/fufilling our fullest potential
Yes it does, as a koi carp swimming upstream indicates that it has over come, or is over coming a personal battle and that when it reaches the top it has over come it and is transformed into a beautiful, strong and majestic dragon.
Lotus flowers can be associated with them and look good as well, but cherry blossoms coupled with waves and perhaps some other Koi or smaller Asian marine life ties in well and perhaps overlay a well done, brush stroked Kanji character are typically the standard. Additionally, you never want to get the Koi headed downwards on your body, always upward swimming against the stream.
The koi fish swimming up stream means the person is currently in a battle or struggle and are still fighting obstacles but wont give up. They have overcome obstacles and have now gained the strength they need to continue against the current. The koi fish swimming down stream means they don't yet posses the strength to make it against the obstacles to move towards success. They have already achieved their goals, overcoming their obstacles and no longer fighting the current.

I had the same dream. Dozens of white koi swimming trough the air in a forest with lots of trees. I wonder what it means.

Upstream: you have been in a battle. Downstream: you have achieved your goal
The Koi represents 'Good Fortune' for it to succeed to swim up stream.
Well koi fish symbolise strength and courage, and the legend and myth behind the koi fish is that it swims upstream to turn into a dragon. The Dragon symbolises the end of a journey and overcoming the obstacle you faced. Therefore a Koi swimming upstream symbolises faceing a problem and being on a quest to put an end to it. A Koi swimming downstream symbolises that it has allready overcome the problem, people often get this to symbolise the end of an ordeal.
depending on where it is, you can put a dragon above it as in Japanese mythology a koi is a baby dragon that transforms once it makes it up a stream (I can't remember which particular stream)
Koi are generally slow swimmers unless they are being preyed upon or are ill. If your koi is swimming fast or erratically, check for signs of illness or injury.
they rested for a while from swimming down and now are heading back up. they'll get tired again though. koi are stupid
