In angina pectoris, it is not the blood that is damaged, it is the blood VESSELS as anginal pectoris is caused by forms of atherosclerosis which inhibit blood flow. Therefore, the ESR test is pointless in cases of angina pectoris because it will only show that they blood is healthy and will not indicate a condition of disease in the blood vessels.
