The color that you are looking for is called burgundy. It is made using red and a bit of brown. This will yield a rich dark red which is suitable for your purposes. Shade your drawing with edges of black.

In what setting? In a big room, I love dark stone or upholstery. Black granite counters with cherry cabinets is lovely. A deep burgundy red can also go well, if it's just the right color. Think rich colors. Cherry is very rich and warm. To go with it, either pick a dark, warm neutral color(black or dark grey), or a rich version of a green or red or a warm blue, depending on the look you're going for. In my opinion, stay away from yellow and orange. Look to the cherry and either try to match the color(cherry is basically red & black), go neutral(black), complimentary(dark red), or opposite(green). Good luck! S
