In arts, computers are used for graphic design and photo editing. Programs like Photoshop and GIMP are used professionally for this sort of thing. Programs like Adobe Flash can be used to make Cartoons and commercials. There are several programs made for editing video footage, which find extensive use in TV and film entertainment. Computers can also use sound editing programs like Audacity to record things, which are probably used in the music industry.

There are actually a lot of different computer programs made for all kinds of purposes, and I'm sure there are plenty more that I haven't listed.

Initially computers were just for writing, accounting and editing. With the invention of CGI and ultimately the engines now used by Disney/Pixar, the computer is a vital part of the entire process, including sound and video presentations.

I would say that computers are great entertainment for computer games. Other uses are watching movie trailers. It's a long list of items to be sure but I'll stop at what I said.
