In Biology, the eyepiece in a typical light microscope is used for magnifying the image being viewed (the field of view) by 10 times. Secondly, the eyepiece also has a scale on it which is visible when you look down through the microscope at an image, or at your field of view. This scale has divisions on it which you can use to measure the length of the cellular structures you are looking at.
So basically, the eypiece magnifies the image and has a scale on it which you can use to measure the structures in the cell.

The tube on a microscope holds the eyepiece(s) and allows the viewer to look through the lenses to observe the magnified specimen on the slide below. It also provides the appropriate distance between the eyepiece and objective lenses for clear focus and magnification.

The eyepiece, or ocular, is the lens at the top of a microscope that you look through. Its function is to magnify the image of the specimen that is produced by the objective lens, allowing you to see the details of the specimen more clearly.
The magnification, or power, at which a telescope is operating is a function of the focal length of the telescope's main (objective) lens (or primary mirror) and the focal length of the eyepiece employed.
Eyepiece Graticule is a device that is used with microscopes to help in determining the size of fibrous dust. The graticules come in various sizes that are 16mm,19mm and 21 mm.
The eyepiece of a microscope is the lens through which you look to view the specimen. It magnifies the image produced by the objective lens, allowing you to see a highly magnified view of the specimen.
