The changes in art were they learned how to make pictures have more depth which means they looked more 3D. This is a wild guess but do you do Laurel Springs? I do and this was one of the questions for 6th grade Ancient Civilizations... I am just taking a wild guess :)

The art was mainly a religious theme. At times people like Michelangelo were commissioned to make a tomb for a Pope or a building ( the Vatican), but for the most part everything he did was with a religious theme. When he did the Sistine he was commissioned to take 6 weeks to paint it, but it took him 4 years before he was done. When the Pieta was finished he placed it in St. Peters and people didn't know he sculpted it, so he went in at night and carved his name across the Madonna's sash. Michelangelo lived in poverty all of his life ( this was his choice) and never married.

Renaissance paintings reflected the humanist ideals that dominated the time through emphasis of the human form. By displaying nude figures, figures in motion, figures with weight and realistic fabrics, and detailed facial expressions, painters emphasized humanistic subjects.

Stories from Greco-Roman mythology were a popular subject for Renaissance painters; these themes were not used in medieval art. An example is Botticelli's 'Birth of Venus'.
