A Support Manager at Walmart is usually responsible for just about everything. I've worked at Walmart for almost ten years, spending seven of those ten years as a Support. I am responsible for delagating tasks, checking on employees, checking in vendors, backroom matainance, checking in with my IMS (Inventory Manangement Specialists), creating displays, taking down displays, building endcaps, stocking-when needed, zoning and general upkeep of the day!
My bosses delegate tasks to me and I go from there! I work my tail off though!
And in case you are wondering.. after 10 years with the same company and still sitting an at hourly wage.. I make about $30,000/year before taxes.
It's not a very lucrative job, but I am anticipating a promotion to assistant manager soon which will put me just below $37,000/year. I hope I get it! I've got triplets on the way!

For example, the Grocery department, GM (General Merchandise), Entertianment, Automotive, and etc. They would be in charge of scheduling employees for working, training staff, managing product stock, and overall efficiency of the department.
Each Wal-Mart store (Wal-Mart, Sam's Club) may have a different governing system based on the size of the location, it's hours of operation, its annual revenue, or its demographic size and location.
