No - Andrea was born with congenital glaucoma and may have eventually become blind at the age of 12 while playing soccer he hit his head a few days later in the hospital he had bleeding on his brain he has been totally blind ever since a lot of people wonder why his eyes are always closed it may be due to the fact a lot of blind peoples eyes are light sensitive and while on stage the big stage lights may hurt his eyes

Pablo Picasso spent time volunteering at hospitals and became paranoid/terrified of going blind, it was the most common disease at the time.
This heavily influenced his paintings of the blue period.
Most of the Blue Period gallery was of low life street people, beggars, prostitutes many of whom are emaciated and totally blind, surrounded by the same cold and pallid blue.
The Blue period lasted for four years, during these four years Picasso's images were marked by a pervasive monochromatic blue palette that primarily emphasises the use of intense saturation of colour, in some of these paintings it is the only colour, the tragic condition of impoverished men and and women set against indeterminate zones of blue, these figures are typically nameless outcasts who are lost in private sorrow, with there frequently drooping heads and their isolated positions whether standing or seated, they are by virtue of their withdrawal and, with the mystical blue colour, removed from human contact. Even with other people they seem distant and isolated, this is created through the use of minimalism.
