None, it is an electric motor In fact, most cars have SERIES connected starter motors - an electric motor where the field windings (the ones that are fitted to the case of the machine and don't move) have the same current flowing in them that the armature (the rotating part of the motor) has. A series motor has very high starting torque, so it's ideal for getting a large lump of scrap metal turning over, but it has poor running (high speed) torque and poor speed control. (Speed control is so poor that if you spin up a starter motor without a load, it may over-speed and possibly throw its windings out of the armature!) Some starter motors use permanent magnets for the field system - these magnets are quite powerful and give the motor good starting torque, and magnet systems are smaller than the series coil systems, and make the starter motor a bit lighter and cheaper. These motors also have a lower top speed at no load, too.
The 1998 Ford Escort starter motor is located on the rear of the engine. The starter motor will be on the right hand side, near the bottom of the motor.
Yes, a starter motor can be placed in a Vectra CDTI 55.
A motor starter is a specialized relay designed to control the main power to an electric motor, typically in an industrial setting such as on a large air compressor. Large electric motors demand more current that a typical off/on switch could be rated for and safely used with. A starter allows for a small switch, either manual or automatic, to control the motor by switching a smaller voltage than the motor itself uses. This has several advantages. It also typically contains overload/overheat protection for the motor being controlled.
Its a starter that has a set of gears between the motor and the starter pinion which allows higher-speed, lower-current, lighter and more compact motor assembly while increasing cranking torque.

The wires and the permanent magnet
combination of sinusoidally wound stator and a permanent magnet for rotor design is the basis of PMSM.
One can purchase a permanent magnet motor online from Grainger where they have many available for around $400. One can also find them for purchase on ebay.
A starter moter is a high-torque electric motor for turning the gear on the engine flywheel. The modern starter motor is either a permanent-magnet or a Series-parallel wound Direct current electric moter with a solenoid switch (similar to a relay) mounted on it.

A refrigerator is not a magnet, however it does contain an electric motor, and within that motor are permanent magnets (as well as electromagnets).
