I have a large painting by E. Jalava which was purchased by my parents back in the sixties for about $700.00. If you put one of this artist's paintings in a newer and darker natural wood frame, it will take on an awesome transformation. The ornate gold and lightly painted frames from that era seem to distract to much from the atmosphere painted by this artist.
Michelangelo, (1475-1564) worked on the 'Last Judgement' in the Sistine Chapel from 1536 to 1541, twenty-five years after he completed the ceiling. He was 61 years old when he began the 'Last Judgement'.
It was painted in 1907 and he painted it for mother's day
Angus mazwell painted the abomination next door to were the mona Lisa was painted, they were both painted at the same time.
I think it was painted in 1893. Edvard Munch painted it.
