1. If you see XZZ in your VIN then you use the first one. If you do not see it then you use the 'except' option. I just went through this myself.

2. A Dodge or Chrysler dealer can use the VIN to sort out which you need.

HM12MSC Comments: I can't say with absolute certainty that one wouldn't/couldn't ever find "XZZ" in the VIN as stated in answer No. 1; however, I believe this method of part confirmation could result in purchasing the wrong part (e.g., XZZ is not in the VIN on my 2005 Grand Caravan SXT; however, my van does have this option, because it's listed on my original dealer invoice and is described as "Mid Model Year Tracking" whatever that means).

Therefore, I believe that answer No.2 is the best for determining the proper part unless you have a copy of the dealer invoice.

The EGR is on the right front corner of the engine, just above the alternator.
