If you are facing the engine, it is on the right side attached to the motor. If you are facing the engine, it is on the right side attached to the motor.
Your idle air control valve should not affect your acceleration. As soon as you step on the gas , the idle part of your engine should not be operating. If your car cuts out or stumbles, i would suspect a problem with the TPS ( throttle position sensor.)

The Control Module on a 1993 Camaro is just to the left of the valve cover. It is toward the rear of the engine compartment on the passenger side of the engine.
