A faulty fuel pump will make a 1996 Chevy Tahoe hard to start after it sets for a few hours. The pump can allow fuel to leak back into the gas tank and starve the engine for fuel.
Check the fuse and the relay. If it's the fuse, and the next fuse blows out immediately, be suspicious of the fuel pump.
Open the hood and on the inner fender well driverside is a big black box that has electrical center wrote on the top. remove the top and flip it over and read the inside of it. It will show you the fuel pump relay and fuse location.
Varies by location, it should be about 2 hours of labor plus parts.
Need more info, does it turn over? Did you check to see if you have fuel getting to the engine (does the pump in the tank run when you turn the key)? Do you have spark (check with a inline spark tester $6.00)?
There is none.
It is in the gas tank.
Mounted on the engine block inside the oil pan.
where is the fuel pump relay on a 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe
It is inside of the gas tank. You will have to remove the tank to service the fuel pump. From someone who has replaced 2 fuel pumps. The 1999 Tahoe needs a GM fuel pump. The after market fuel pumps don't work. Something about not pulling enough volume I think. After I replaced with the GM fuel pump, the car worked great.
Yes
It is built into the oil pump.
where is the back wipers water pump locate on a 1996 chevy tahoe
Any recalls 2004 Chevy Tahoe
Location of fuel pump for 99 TahoeIt is mounted to the inside of the frame under the driver door. Nononononononono! It is inside the fuel tank! Inside the frame is where the fuel "FILTER" is most commonly found.
Remove the fuel tank then unscrew the retainig ring and remove unit.
Chevy did not use them on there trucks or SUVs. You need to check the fuel pump fuse and relay and make sure there good. You may just have a bad fuel pump.
