No. It is not an interface engine. Outside of a terminal internal failure, incorrect spark plugs, or a decked/shaved head (for performance), the pistons will not touch the head should your timing belt snap. IIRC, Ford service reccomends they be changed around 60,000 miles. I would also change the tensioner at the same time as it is an inexpensive part and is prone to failure over time. check out the Gates website, they have a check-engine on it..aslo everyone should have a manual for their vehicle, and a professional shop manual should be available at the library in the reference section--you can make copies of the necessary information...good luck :)
