Not using the dipsticks for the oil and transmission, while seeing leaks are a sign... Check your fuids and keep them clean and full or you will cause damage to whatever componenet relies on their respective fluids. Answer leaking oil is NOT sign of a bad transmission, its a sign of a bad/worn seal(s) or hose(s). more likely a sign of a worn seal or oil pan gasket. Actually it's a sign of money that will go out of you pocket, the more you can see, the more you have to pay. If you don't fix it, you may have to pay for the aggregates, eg transmission parts instead of paying for a small rubber seal.

Why would there be coolant leaking into the oil in a 1995 Gran am?

I'm assuming your grand am has a 3400 v6 which are known for intake and head gaskets leaking. so its possible that one of those gaskets are leaking so bad that coolant is leaking from intake/heads down onto your valvetrain and then down into your oil pan. more than likely its your intake gaskets leaking.

What can be wrong if oil smells like gas engine is leaking at head gasket and sounds like sewing machine ever since fuel lines broke and had been replaced?

Gas is leaking into your oil pan. If the head gasket is leaking, it needs to be replaced. While the cylinder head is off, look for a cracked piston or worn rings which may cause gas to leak into the oil pan. If the gasket has been replaced and you had no piston damage or bad rings, then change the oil and filter.

Does low coolant level and no pressure in the overflow tank mean coolant is leaking into the engine in a 98 olds intrigue?

maybe not. check engine oil for color and quantity. if oil is white to grey, then there is coolant leaking into engine.no pressure might be caused by bad radiator cap.this will also allow coolant to escape

Why would an engine run clean when first started then white smoke progressively get worse?

If you are loosing coolant, you have a leaking head gasket. If you are loosing oil and have a turbo, the seal on the turbo is bad. either intake manifold gasket or head gasket is leaking

Beige gunge on oil cap?

Coolant leaking into engine oil? Leaking head gasket Run engine to normal operating temperature pull oil dipstick and let a drop fall onto hot part of engine - oil will smoke coolant will sizzle
