C. Thomas Howell is very much alive. He just ended a 5 season run as one of the stars of the critically claimed TNT series "Southland."

Howell was also sued in March of 2013 for allegedly bilking $220,000 USD out of a production company under false pretenses. He not only says he is innocent of the charges, he filed a lawsuit of his own against a third party he claims is behind the scam and that he was a victim as well. The cases are pending.
