The yoke on the driveshaft of a gm turbo 350 trans has a small vent hole in it. If the trans is over filled to the point fluid comes out of it you will do serious damage to the trans if you try to drive the vehicle.
A 1996 Chevy should not have a a turbo hydramatic 350 unless it has been changed. it should not shift into reverse hard unless the idle is too high, or there is some other problem, such as a tired differential,or bad u-joint.
I believe it's called a trans-axle output shaft seal. Could also be the front differential pinion seal.
Input Speed Sensor is on Front of Trans closer to the engine. Output is on the front, farther to the drive side. Both are two wire sensors.
there is a wall between your trans part and your bottom end where ur crank is. If it is not leaking out of the outer case, then i dont know because it wont be getting past the wall unless it has a hole in the wall... and u will know if that has happened.
replace tail shaft seal. to do this, remove drive shaft first. It helps if the front of the car is pointed down a steep hill. This way you won't loose any trans fluid.
is there something holding front axel in trans case
You have transmission fluid lines that go to the radiator/front for cooling you must have a leak there
NO
The universal joint(s) on the driveshaft are bad.
The CV joint boot is bad, and needs to be replaced.
You have to take it loose from the front bearing then pry it out of the trans. Big Job
you can but usually it will just dump out the vent at the top of the transmission, and make you think you have a leaking front seal. Proper way to check level is to remove the 5/16 plug inside the drain plug, with the "car running" if fluid just drips out it is ok level, if nothing comes out fluid is low. Make sure car is level
Put trans. fluid in through the dipstick hole, be careful not to overfill
overfill vent on top usually blows excess out of trans.
trans fluid
It is the item on the front of the trans with the below the hoses. It is the item on the front of the trans with the below the hoses.
should be a filler tube comin out of the trans
