If you overfill a 1976 350 turbo trans will it leak out the rear of the trans by the front U joint Its not leaking out of the seal?

The yoke on the driveshaft of a gm turbo 350 trans has a small vent hole in it. If the trans is over filled to the point fluid comes out of it you will do serious damage to the trans if you try to drive the vehicle.

My turbo 350 trans in my 1996 Chevy shifts into reverse very hard is this the result of a defective modulater valve Can you remove it without oil leaking out of the trans. Cost?
A 1996 Chevy should not have a a turbo hydramatic 350 unless it has been changed. it should not shift into reverse hard unless the idle is too high, or there is some other problem,such as a tired differential,or bad u-joint.

I believe it's called a trans-axle output shaft seal. Could also be the front differential pinion seal.

there is a wall between your trans part and your bottom end where ur crank is. If it is not leaking out of the outer case, then i dont know because it wont be getting past the wall unless it has a hole in the wall... and u will know if that has happened.

replace tail shaft seal. to do this, remove drive shaft first. It helps if the front of the car is pointed down a steep hill. This way you won't loose any trans fluid.

Proper way to check level is to remove the 5/16 plug inside the drain plug, with the "car running" if fluid just drips out it is ok level, if nothing comes out fluid is low. Make sure car is level
