hourly mgrs work 40-50 a week, assistant managers work 45+ co/store mgrs work 55+
that doesn't count lunches, salaried mgrs usually just get a 9 hour(not counting lunch) day added on so they work 6 days during peak time
UPDATE: Wal-Mart has recently changed the structure of how managers work. They now are required to work 3 days from 7:30 to 8:00. That shift applies to both day and overnight managers, so that there is a half hour overlap for exchange of information. That's 12 1/2 hours a day, but they is a SCHEDULED lunch hour in there.
After that 3 days, they are supposed to get 3 days off. This would be a good plan, as it rotates their days off and they could plan a life around the rotation. However, store managers have decided that the "intent" of the new plan was that asst managers should work 60 hour work weeks and so feel free to schedule their assistants shifts like 3 on, 2 off, 1 on and 3 on. Saying that they are sure that asst managers are still expected to work 5 days a week, even though the official rotation would have them working only 4 days a week, or 48 hours.
The problem with Wal-Mart is that Bentonville headquarters has some great ideas, but once the "ideas" become working models in the field, the Store Managers are allowed to alter these great ideas and use them to abuse their employess.
Did I mention that this new shift and rotation was implemented without a single pay increase and that they have recently made it nearly impossible for employees at new stores to ever receive a management bonus.

Employee shift changes at Walmart can vary by location and department, but typically shifts may start around 7 AM, 3 PM, and 11 PM for full-time associates. Part-time employees may have more flexible hours, depending on their availability and store needs. It's best for employees to check their specific schedule or consult with their manager for precise shift times.

Not enough. I personally make 9.70 an hour, and I run four different departments. There are some managers that make upwards 11.00 an hour, but they've been with the company for a while. Walmart's department managers are paid based on how many departments and the experience they have, plus years with the company may add to that total, depending on yearly evals.. if you were a carpenter or plumber or what-not and you run the hardware department you are likely to be paid more than someone who started as a sales associate in sporting goods and then got promoted to a new department.. on that note, department manager is one of the most demanding positions and I agree they don't get paid much but they get significantly more hours to go along with the pay raise. ZMSs get paid more, but in my opinion do not have an as demanding job.
