As soon as water in seen in the oil reservoir it needs to be taken to a mechanic immediately. Further driving will cause the head gasket to blow.

Drive it to the mechanic. You have something wrong and that is what the car is telling you. Oil, water, something is not right.

Not very long at all. Without engine oil the engine will lock up and become unrepairable. You will have to purchase a new car of this happens.

Oil Check and smoke from the oil ck I looked at a car today and when I checked the oil there was smoke coming from the tube where the oil level stick goes in the car?

It probably did not have an oil change in a long, long, time and all that smoke coming out was the sludge left inside burning. Add oil and then drive it to a repair station to change the oil and filter.

What should you do with the oil in your car before leaving the car idle for a long time?

You'll get a different answer from everyone that you ask. Here is mine: Change the oil. Drive the car long enough to get the oil hot, 10 minutes or more. Park the car... That's it! Don't take the oil out, don't put in any special additives. Just too easy, isn't it? --Ken

How does a car drive with low engine oil?

The real key here is "OIL PRESSURE" The car will drive and not be damaged as long as there is enough oil to keep the lubrication system working correctly, usually shown on the dash as oil pressure. The oil level will eventually fall low enough that the oil pump will no longer make pressure and the engine will be completely ruined in less than a minute.

Can you drive your car after accidentally putting transmission fluid into your oil?

I would NOT DRIVE THE CAR. You can start it then change the oil immediatly. Transmisson oil is a great cleaner but not a very good lubricant for an engine.

When it comes to cars, oil and water don't mix. Oil has its own reservoir as does water.
