I made some ceramic decals in high school back in 1978. My instructor said I have to do something advanced since it was my fourth year of ceramics. You need to make decals of your photo by silkscreening the image with ceramic glaze onto decal paper. First you need a film positive of the photo you want to print. There is a photosensitive coating that you can squeegee onto the silkscreen, and then you burn the image onto the screen using either sunlight or another light source through the film positive directly onto the silkscreen. The internet has the supplies you need to do it yourself, or you can send your photo to a service that will make decals for you. Of course, this service is more expensive than doing it yourself. The decals work the same way as the ones used for car models when you were a kid. You soak them in water, then slip it off the paper onto your pottery. It is fun learning about and doing it yourself, but if you're in a hurry, just have them made for you.
