You will need to remove the rear tire and wheel. Remove the axle end cap. Remove the wheel bearing nut. Remove the wheel bearing and the wheel seal. Reverse the process to install the new wheel bearing.

Dont Know what year you have but on 01 Mitsubishi montero sport disconnect the brake line and parking brake cable remove the brake pads just makes it easier to handle.Remove the four nuts on the back side of the backing plate and remove rear axle with backing plate you may need to pull or pry hard to pull it out.Once out you will need to remove the the snap ring next to the retainer ring then you will need to press out the retainer ring and bearing it took me about 24 tons of pressure and heating up the retainer ring before it came loose probably better to just cut it off once off you can separate the backing plate from the axle to replace the outer seal. The rest is just the reversal of procedure good luck its not an easy job if you are not properly equipped and wouldnt recommend it to an inexperienced mechanic.
