I actually replace my drivers side mirror. I is a mechanical mirror with the turn signal on it. There is a small triangular door panel piece near the mirror. Remove it and remove the 2 or 3 bolts holding the mirror. Remove inside door panel. Unplug/replug electrical connection. The whole process was quite easy (believe it or not)!

There should be 2 screws/bolts around the pull handle. Usually a 7mm. Take those out and then a Phillips screwdriver and remove the screw on the panel around your inside door handle. Remove that small panel. If its a crank window you'll need a special tool or a small screwdriver to remove the C clip. Once all the screws are out take a sturdy putty knife or something similar and starting at the bottom, gently pry out. There are maybe 10-12 push type clips that hold the panel on. After that you'll see the holes that hold the mirror on. (3). These are usually a 10mm. Good luck.

Everyone should have a manual, and the library should have a professional shop manual available for copies in the reference section (FOR FREE)...read up and fix 'em like the pro's...! :)

The urethane seal under the glass must be cut loose first. The tools are available but the seal is a killer to cut and requires much muscle power. One tool is a knife handle with a t handle and a cable to use both hands and the other is a 18 in handle that holds knife cutter blades. Be careful not to let a tool slip or its good by paint job. Once the glass is out the urethane seal must be cut out and a primer applied around the perimeter and allowed to dry, then a 3/8 bead of urethane applied. Put the stop blocks on the bottom if they have been removed. Its a two man job to place the new window in the opening. Use a tongue depressor or some other tool to go around the edge of the glass pushing the sealer in any voids. All in all once you figure the cost of all the tools and supplies you will come out better just to let a pro do the job.

I had a 2000 s-10 and I replaced the mirror one from what I remember it wasnt too hard you have 3 bolts in a triangular pattern holding the mirror on from the other side of the mirror, You have to pull out a few clips from the top of the inner door panel just enough to pull back to access the bolts that hold the mirror in I remember on the 2000 you could pull out a few of the top door panel clips that hold to the door above the handle area. Then it was just a matter of puliing back enough in the panel to access the 3 bolts holding the mirror in and the electrical connector if your window was heated or had the defrosters in them. Sorry I cant be more specific if anyone else can add to this feel free but what I do remember was that it took me less than half an hour so wasnt too bad just a matter of looking at what you need to remove as you go along..Good luck

The question you ask is too involved for a proper answer. You may want to go to a car parts store, and get a repair manual for your car. They cost about $16.00 Or, go to a Public Library.
