hopefully, the door hasn't been installed yet, but if it has. Dissengauge the garage door opener from the door, ( usually accomplished by pulling the red cord hanging from the operator). the door should move freely by hand. Unplug or cut the power to the opener for safety. You'll need something to stand on to be able to reach the top portion of your door. you'll need a sharp utillity knife. A friend could come in handy also. Lift the door by hand enough so that the top panel of the door tilts inward away from the door openning. It's a small working area but unfortunately all you have. have a friend steady the door in this position or use some vice grips on the door track to wedge the door in this position. Lightly score the left and right edges of cellophane with the knife trying not to cut into the paint and peel away. Hurry with this project, if left to long, the sun may permanently bake the cellophane on your new door. This cellophane should have been removed during the original door install. Check with your door contractor and question why this wasn't done. chances are they'll say to protect the door during construction or painting. All door manufacterers recommend that this film be removed prior to installation. My opinion: make the contractor take it off
