First disconnect the negative battery cable then make sure engine is cool before you do the next step, disconnect the cooling fan then remove then remove the four bolts that hold the fan in, remove the upper radiator support mount, jack the car up, make sure you put it on jack stand, there is a bolt on the bottom of the ignition module mount, you have to remove that from under the car, then remove spark plug wire make sure you label them before you remove them because if you don't you will change the firing order and you car may not start or run right if you don't them back in the correct firing order, OK now disconnect the ignition connector then remove the two bolts, one on each side, then remove the ignition module with the coil pack. installation is the same as removal. Good luck.

What causes a 1989 Chevy beretta 2.8L to stall as soon as engine gets warm and wont restart til car cools?

sounds like you have a problem with the ignition if if has coil packs it will do that or it could be the wires but problay the ignition is wore out . it might not look bad but the inside is gone once you put any kind of stress on it

How do you change the ignition lock cylinder in a 1989 Chevy Cheyenne when there is a key broke off in the ignition and it won't turn?

A locksmith may be able to remove the broke key and make a new one. Or just replace the ignition.

How do you check a ignition control module on 91 mercury capri?

You may be out of luck with this check. I have a 93 with a non-turbo 1.6 and due to a non-start senario I knew the ign. module was the culprit. Being a master Ford/GM tech. and former automotive parts sales man at a local NAPA store, I took the unit out and took to every parts store around as well as a ford dealer. No one has a way to check this module to see if it is bad. Being that the car was made in Australia the local Ford dealers never botherd catering to soulving any of it's primary problems. If you suspect the module is the problem due to a no-start...the module is not cheap and trial and error may be the only course of action...good luck. my son had the same problem & he could not find a module we replaced the whole distributor & it started but the dist. cost him over 300 dollars.

Where do you find the engine coil packs for a 1989 Chevy Beretta 2.8L motor?

They can be one of two places. Either at the top rear of the engine, or at the front, also on top.

Where is the ignition module located on a 1989 Dodge d150 pickup truck?

The ignition module for this vehicle is mounted on the driver side fender well just below the hood hinge and behind a round vacuum diaphram. It is rectangle in shape and has a connector plug at one end(facing towards the front of the vehicle)and is mounted on a aluminum base with cooling fins(much like a small lawn mower engine)
