I just changed the motor/regulator on a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee this morning. It took me about 1 1/2 hours total. I bought the general repair manual for the car at auto zone and it had step by step instructions for removing the door panel, removing the glass window, and for replacing the motor. it was about 7 bolts total to remove the motor/regulator assembly, and two pins to pop out with a flat head screw driver in order to dis lodge the window from its mechanism/lift arm. I am by no means a mechanic and know very little about repair, but this repair was easy. I recommend you buy that book at any auto parts store and there will be your answer.

Lower window at least a couple of inches if possible.

Remove interior door trim panel.

Unplug anything at trim panel.

Unplug window motor.

Remove 2 bolts holding glass to regulator.

Tilt window glass forward, then remove upward and outward from door.

Remove 4 or seven bolts and/or nuts mounting regulator and motor to door frame. I think it's 4.

Maneuver regulator out of door frame.

If 4 in above step, remove 3 bolts mounting motor to regulator, otherwise you'll be replacing the whole regulator.

Install by reversing above procedure.
