∙ 9y agoThe 2000 Hyundai Sonata does have a fuel pump safety switch. The fuel pump safety switch is located in the fuse box. The fuse box can be found in the engine compartment behind the battery box.

∙ 9y agothe switch is on the left hand side of the transmission about half way back of the transmission. it has two wires that plug into it.
Its in the gearbox- tiptronics are very difficult to work on, leave it to a pro.
Remove the door panel. Remove the switch retainer. Remove the wiring harness. Reverse the process to install the new switch.
No, there is no suck switch.

I have the car. My switch died. Maybe that's the problem. I know of no fuse dedicated to the fuel trap.
