you take the spark plug wire off and get you a 13/16 wrench and the plug will be right underneath the gas tank,you can get to it better on the left side of the bike.The side were the clutch lever is.Just unscrew and put the new one in.

Stand your bike upright. Get down and look where you put the oil in, then look even lower and you will sew a window the size of a half doallr coin. If the oil level is below 25% you need oil.

Most Yamaha 650's from1998 until 2004 can use an NGK standard DPR7EA-9 gapped at around 0.035 inch.If you prefer the Iridium plugs use DPX7EIX-9 gapped at the same as standard.
