Zeus had many siblings: Poseidon, Hades and Hera were some of them. They all fought against they're father, Zeus was the one to kill him and spread his body parts around. Since he killed his father, Zeus became the King of the gods, he tricked Hades into taking the underworld, he gave the whole sea to Poseidon and he married Hera his sister.

Zeus, god of the sky, didn't actually kill his father because his father (Cronus) was immortal, like Zeus.Instead, Zeus used his fathers own weapon to slice Cronus into a thousand pieces. Zeus then tossed all the pieces into Tartarus, the deepest crater in the underworld, and Cronus never escaped. Cronus was still alive because he was immortal, but he was harmless since his body was scattered in Tartarus.Zeus was then chosen to be king of the gods. Him and his brothers, Poseidon and Hades, chose the domains they would rule over. Zeus picked the sky, Poseidon picked the sea and Hades picked the underworld.Zeus did not kill Cronus, he and his allies fought a war and Cronus and the other Titans were driven into Tartarus.

Hades didn't like Poseidon because Poseidon broke the truce of having children because they were the top 3 most powerful Gods and their children would have to much power. Hades killed Thalia, Zeus's daughter, because Zeus also broke the treaty, but Zeus later brought Thalia back after almost 2 decades. Hades attempted to kill Perseus (Poseidon's son) the same way as he killed Thalia. By the Monsters of the Underworld (to them the Kindley Ones). Perseus survived the Monsters and all of the other attempts to kill him. Hades also wants to be higher in reign, so he is punishing his brothers, Zeus and Poseidon, and humiliating them out of reign.

Zeus is the Lord of Olympus and the King of all Gods. He is unfaithful unlike his older brother Hades, the God of the Underworld who stays faithful to his wife, Persephone. They both have a way in showing their anger. While Zeus controls the weather with his mood, Hades would sometimes kill mortals without a cause. But Hades, who is not even depicted in the The Iliad, does not like getting close to Wars with his brothers. In fact, he lets Zeus and Poseidon do the fighting.

No, Kronos (Cronus) had already eaten Poseidon.
Gaia never tried to kill Zeus; when the Gigantes, the race of Giants warred with Zeus and the Olympian gods, she had encouraged the Gigantes in this war because of her anger with Zeus, her grandchild, because how he had treated her children, the Titans.
