Kronos had heard a prophecy that one day his own child would overthrow him, so he swallowed all his children as soon as they were born.
When the sixth child, Zeus, was born, his mother Rhea wrapped a stone in swaddling blankets and, pretending it was Zeus, she gave it to Kronos. He swallowed it.
Zeus grew up and when he was old enough he disguised himself as one of Cronus' servants. Once Cronus asked Zeus for a drink. He mixed some kind of poison in it and Cronus coughed up Zeus' siblings.
