There are a few points you must remember, such as:

  • There is good reason we make a distinction between ancient gods, with using a lowercase letter, and using the uppercase God to refer to the God of a primary religion.
  • Hercules: The Legendary Journeys is a game; nothing in a game truly "kills" anything.
  • The game Hercules: The Legendary Journeys uses the lowercase, gods, indicating the game developers are not referring to the God of any major religion.

Did Hercules defeat the centaur?

Yes, Hercules defeated the centaur Nessus in Greek mythology. During an encounter, Nessus attempted to abduct Hercules' wife, Deianira, prompting Hercules to shoot him with a poisoned arrow. Before dying, Nessus tricked Deianira into taking his blood as a love charm, which ultimately led to tragic consequences for both Hercules and Deianira later on.

How does Hercules die and why is he allowed onto Mount Olympus?

Hercules' wife accidentaly kills him. The Centaur Nessus offered to take them across a river that they needed to cross. Nessus tried to kidnap Deianeira (he takes her across first) but Hercules kills shoots him with a poisoned arrow. Before dying, Nessus tells Deianeira to take some of his blood and save it in case Hercules becomes unfaithful (he said the blood would make him fall back in love with her). One day Deianeira gets told rumours about Hercules being unfaithful and makes him wear something (can't remember what) with the blood on it. As the blood is poisoned from the poison that killed the Nessus, Hercules died. Hercules is half God, so he was allowed to go to Mount Olympus and was set as a star (I think) by Zeus.
