Best Answer

Watts= rate of using energy

Amps= current flow

Think of it as a bucket of water with a hole in it.

Watts is the amount of water leaking from the bucket (1 gallon)

Amps is the size of the hole ( it took 3 minutes for that 1 gallon to leak out of the bucket)

What if the input power is 208 volts line to line two phase 8 amps to a heating element vs 110 volts 8 amps to a heating element How is watts calculated?

To calculate watts, you need to multiply the voltage (in volts) by the current (in amps). For the 208 volts, 8 amps heating element: Watts = 208 volts * 8 amps = 1664 watts For the 110 volts, 8 amps heating element: Watts = 110 volts * 8 amps = 880 watts

How much more electric will you use with a 1000amp motor vs a 750 amp motor?

Assuming the same voltage and power factor for the two motors. Watts = Volts x Amps x PF so the power of 1000 A motor is Watts = 1000 x V x PF and the 750 A motor is Watts = 750 x V x PF. So (Watts for 1000A) / (Watts for 750A) = 1.33 This means the 1000 A motor uses about 33% more electricity than the 750 A motor.

How much full load ampere in 2 horse power compressor?

It depends on the voltage of the compressor. Two horse power (electric) is 1492 watts, but watts are volts times amps, so you need to know the voltage. Since the motor is an inductive load, you will also need to know the power factor, so as to compensate for true vs apparent power.

What is mA vs Amps?

mA stands for milliamps, which is a unit of electric current equal to one-thousandth of an ampere. Amps, on the other hand, refers to amperes, which is the base unit of electric current in the International System of Units. So, 1 mA is equal to 0.001 amps.

Marshall amps vs Mesa boogie amps?

Both amps can be good, but it all depends on personal preference. I prefer Mesa to Marshall, because I think they sound better for my style, but either will do nicely. The Marshall has el84 tubes, the Boogie has either 6l6 or el84's, and the Mesa is American made, vs British, or in some cases, Asian made for the MG series. To get a Marshall worked on you have to send it all the way to Britain, even small fixes, to not void the warranty, but I'm not sure about Mesa/Boogies. Hope this helps : )
