Herbie is a real car, he was based of a book car,boy, girl. and when they were looking threw scripts to make a movie in 1967 of a script called car, boy, girl about a owner can love a car more then anyone else that the car will start excepting those emotianse and start to give back to the owner, abd it was soppoly based of true events
