Yes, your policy will still pay as it should have reguardless of you being intoxicated or not while driving. If you are insured with a preferred company I can pretty much guaranty that you will receive a non-renewal notice and your insurance will be cancelled after that. You will also find it harder to purchase affordable insurance from then on as your better more preferred insurance companies will not be interested in your insurance account.

Will insurance pay if driver drinking?

No. No kind of insurance covers drunk driving.

What are your rights if you are hit by a drunk driver while sitting at a stop light?

The same thing that anyone would be entitled to if hit by a sober driver: repair or total loss settlement of the vehicle; possible medical coverage if your state doesn't require you to have your own auto medical coverage; and possibly a bodily injury claim if the person sitting at the light was injured. The "drunk driver" part could come into play if, say, the bodily injury portion of the claim went to trial. A sympathetic jury or judge might say the drunk driver's condition at the time of the loss would increase the value of a bodily injury claim. Still, the drunk driver's insurance carrier would only pay the value of the bodily injury claim, which doesn't include punitive damages found against the drunk driver.

If a drunk driver with no license or insurance rear ended a parked SUV that hit your car that hit the next car is the SUV driver liable for your claim and are you liable for the front car?

Each person's insurance should cover their own vehicle. It's part of un and under insured driver coverage. It protects you against a case just like this. Now if the person doesn't have it then that is their own fault and they will have to pay for the damages out of their own pocket. The individual insurance companys should repair the vehicles and then they will turn around and draw a lawsuit against the drunk-driver for the cost of all the damages. Most states will put all blame on the drunk driver, but it is possible that your state might be different. The police report will be your best sourc of that information.

Was hit by a drunk driver and not hurt badly what can you do?

You can file a claim with your insurance company. You can also get a lawyer and file a lawsuit against the drunk driver.

Will car insurance pay for a car totaled in a DUI accident?

It should. If the "at fault" vehicle is insured, it's supposed to cover the victim's vehicle 100%. If the "at fault" vehicle has comprehensive and collision insurance that insurance is supposed to cover the at fault vehicle up to the deductable amount. Note that the drunk driver will loose his insurance and be required to get the VERY expensive DUI "insurance endorsment" since he/she is now in the highest risk bracket. BTW, when a drunk driver causes a collision it's not called an "accident". Accident is when things just happen. Driving drunk is the CAUSE of the collision and as such the collision is not called an accident. Call it a wreck, crash or just about anything else that takes away the implication of a random act.

What to do if your insurance was cancelled due non payment. 1 month later you get into a 6 car accident that was caused by a drunken driver which ended up being a hit and run?

Once your policy was cancelled you no longer have coverage. Hopefully the drunk driver has good enough insurance to take care of your damages.

Do you need Insurance if you have a valid driver license?

yes because there might be a drunk/reckless driver and you need insurance if you're in a crash to cover damages

Would an insurance company refuse claim if driver was drunk?

Almost certainly.

A vehicle rear-ended the other was cited for following too close the driver of the vehicle that was rear-ended was drunk whose fault?

Many states have laws that automatically assign blame to a drunk driver since he/she shouldn't have been on the road in the first place. But for the purposes of the insurance company, blame will be placed on the driver who rear-ended someone else unless there is proof that the driver in front slammed on the brakes to force the other driver to hit him. That's very difficult to prove. Obviously the drunk driver will be charged with Driving While Impaired and will get a hefty fine. The other driver will probably also be held responsible. Neither insurance company will be happy and both drivers will get to have SOME bad news.

What if you only have PL PD on your car and while its parked it gets hit by a drunk driver with no insurance in the state of michigan?

That means that you have liability coverage only, which does not cover your damages. If the other driver is uninsured, the only option left is, to take him to court and sue him for your damages.

Will an insured drunk driver who hit an uninsured parked vehicle cover the damages?

If you have all of his insurance information and a police report and the stars are in alignment, yes. The insurance company is SUPPOSED to pay, even if the driver was doing something incredibly stupid, like driving while impaired. If the drunk is insured AND has some property of his own, the chances are pretty good that you'll be treated right. Call his insurance company and be cordial, asking how to get his car repaired/replaced and what kind of rental car he'll get while his is in the shop. If you get ANY resistance, hesitation or even reluctance to offer a rental car, suggest that your attorney will have to take care of this. Don't let them walk over you. You have the right to get your vehicle repaired and not be inconvenienced while it's being repaired. Don't be abusive or threatening, but don't put up with nonsense either. They're obligated, and you did nothing wrong. Some insurance companies will try to turn it all around and make YOU feel like you're doing something wrong. Tell them that you'l let your attorney deal with it. Then, instead of paying an attorney, go to the state insurance board. I disagree with the above statement. Most auto insurance policies will have an exclusion for something called "intentional acts" which includes if the at fault driver was drunk. If your car was insured for collision and comprehensive coverage, your own insurance would cover the claim anyway and behind the scenes may try to collect against the at fault driver through what's known as a subrogation claim. So if you were insured with collision/comp coverage, then it doesn't matter what kind of coverage the other driver had and whether they were drunk and had their coverage denied.

Your sister was a passenger on a motorcycle that was hit by a drunk driver her boyfriend who was driving the bike had no insurance registration or a valid motorcycle license what happens?

I guess she tries to collect from the drunk's insurance or sues the drunk and or the boyfriend. If the drunk has no insurance or money, or the boyfriend has no money I think you have your answer. If she has her own medical insurance, she could probably use that.
