Only collision coverage will cover a collision between your car and a stationary object.

A collision between your car and a stationary object is always considered an at-fault accident. Striking an animal is always considered a comprehensive claim, and thus not at-fault.

Do you need liability insurance if you have comprehensive insurance?

Generally, you can't buy comprehensive without first buying liability coverage. Liability covers damage you do in an accident if it is your fault. Comprehensive will not even pay for your vehicle in an accident. It only covers fire, theft, vandalism, animal collision, etc.

Will liability insurance cover deer damages for state farm?

Liabilty will not cover damage from a collision with a deer no matter what insurance company you have. Animal collisions are covered under "Comprehensive" or "Other Than Collision" coverage. Liability only covers damage you do when you are at fault.

Does homeowners insurance cover vandalism to your car in the driveway?

No it does not. Homeowners insurance covers your home, property and liability excluding your auto. Your auto comprehensive coverage will protect you for fire, theft, striking an animal and....vandalism.

Will auto liability cover damage done by a deer?

No. Unless you killed somebody's pet deer, liability insurance is no value. Liability insurance covers the damage you do to somebody else's property or person. Collision insurance covers damage to your vehicle when you strike an object or animal or when your vehicle is damaged by someone unknown, as in a hit-and-run accident.

Should plpd insurance cover costs for hitting a wild animal?

Nope, PLPD aka liability only covers other vehicles for accidents which you may be at fault for. Comprehensive insurance would take care of an incident such as this.

Would it be collision or comprehensive that covers a car deer accident?

Does comprehensive auto insurance cover damage to your car from avoiding a deer and then hitting the curb I know it covers damage from hitting an animal but what about damage from avoiding one?

You still had a accident. What you hit was a curb.

If you are involved in an accident with a person who has no insurance and they are at fault does your insurance pay for repairs to your vehicle if you only have liability insurance?

No, Liability Insurance is just as it says, Liability only pays for damage you cause to another. It will not pay for damages to your vehicle if you had only liability coverage.s from other contributorsUsually they don't. If you had no type of uninsured motorist protection which doesn't cost that much it's in your hands basically to repair your damages. You could sue the assailant for everything they are or ever will be worth but after you win the case they will eventually declare chapter 7 bankruptcy and you'll never get anything from them.Take my suggestion and GET uninsured motorist coverage on your next vehicle. It may cost a little more but it's well worth it.another answer:I live in Texas, and, yes, the liability only pays for the other vehicle, assuming you were at fault. If the other driver was at fault, their insurance should pay you. HOWEVER, I want to explain something that most people don't know. If you have only liablility, and your car burns, you hit an animal, a tree falls on it, or ANYTHING that is not your fault, including running off the road and hitting something, you are just out of luck. BUT, if you have "COMPREHENSIVE INSURANCE" you will be covered for all of these things. Comprehensive insurance is VERY inexpensive, and if you have to file a claim using it, your rates will not increase. I drive older vehicles, and full coverage isn't feasable, so, I have liability and comprehensive on them. Several years ago, one of my trucks burned, and I was comphensated very fairly for it. If I had had only liability, well, I'd been walking. Please check it out if you are used to paying for only liability. I don't think comprehensive will pay if the other person just didn't have insurance, but, it will pay you if an "act of GOd" has happened, something unavoidable, like fire, and accidents not involving other vehicles.billlyhIn the state of Kentucky they have "no fault" insurance which is mandatory even on only liability....so you're covered in the event someone else causes the accident. However, after your car is fixed and there is no other insurance company to collect off, then your insurance will go up to pay for the claim. There is also "uninsured/under insured" riders. Check with your insurance company and state Dept of Insurance.

Does comprehensive insurance cover damage done to a car if the car hits or is hit by an animal?

Comprehensive coverage protects you against damages to your car that are the result of covered issues not related to a collision, such as an animal. Some insurance companies do not cover damages due to animals.

If your dog is hit by a car does your home insurance cover the damage do to the car?

No, it does not. That is why there are different policies called "home insurance" and "vehicle insurance".(The answer above is not entirely true. The homeowner insurance "liability portion" may pay for the vehicle damage as long as there is not an animal liability exclusion)
