How can Knudsen gauge measure pressure?

Knudsen Gauge is among the few devices that were invented to measure pressures of the order of 10^-3 to 10^-6 torr(1 torr is equal to 1mm column of a mercury), i.e, very low pressures or degrees of vacuum.Other devices in this category include McLeod Gauge, Ionisation Gauge, Pirani Gauge and Thermocouple. It consists of two suspending vanes which are joint to make a rectangular frame suspended by a fibre.Further a mirror is fitted in the fibre to note the deviations of the pressure. Two fixed heated plated are located opposite to these vanes.Low pressure gas comes into the vessel through the inlet hole .The momentum of the heated particles is not altered by the fixed heated plates while this momentum causes the deflection of cooler vanes which is noted by the mirror using a lens mechanism. The expression for the pressure inside the vessel is : Pi= KF/[(Ts/Tm-1)^1/2] . Here K= constant for the gauge, F= Force which can be evaluated from the deflection and the elastic constants of the suspension fibre. Ts=Temperature of the stationary sheets,Tm= Temperature of the moving sheets.
