Wrong: Hundreds of Allied aircraft, from the RAF, RCAF, and the USAAF, were assigned to patrol the beaches ( note proper spelling of beach ) during and after the JUNE 6th landings on the Normandy coast of France. These included fighters, and bombers who were tasked with bombing the German rear areas, to knock out bridges and rail lines, to prevent German reinforcements from coming up to the landing beaches. The fighters were being called in by ground controllers to attack specific German resitance points, with rockets and cannon fire, as well as 250 pound bombs. So, yes, there were hundreds of Allied aircraft over the beaches on D-Day. The ones who were all most completely absent were the German air craft. They were nowhere to be seen. The Germans were only able to launch two fighters to attack the Allied troops on Normandy. German ace "Pips" Priller and his wingman flew one straffing mission over the beaches. He related his account in the book "The Longest Day", which was accurately depicted in the movie.
21st century air force does, but not during the Viet War. The USAF ground troops are special ops personnel.
It wasn't, but the pre-requisite for any armed conflict is always control of the air. You can then stop the enemy from bombing your troops and supplies and bomb his troops and supplies.
Very important. The Pacific theater was made of small islands held by the Japanese. They were dug in, so it meant that the troops had to land on each island and fight ( just like DDay landings, but many more than one). Support from the air was important in taking the islands because they would bomb the islands first. The Japanese air force also had planes that would bomb our ships so they worked at keeping them away from the ships and to fight them in the air. Watch the series Victory at Sea and you will see real footage of the war in the Pacific.
It is the war center of America and has supplied troops, a navy and air forces for the US Army and has helped by supplying and comanding troops air forces and navy ships during World War II and many wars.

A garrison,Artillery crew or air support.
There were actually 150 Air Born troops that were dropped in Normandy..
Anti tank and aircraft guns. (anti tank guns could be easily converted to anti aircraft) It would been relatively pointless. Omaha beach along with all the beaches on DDAY were meant to be bombed prior to the landings but with the large amount of smoke (caused my grass fires) from the naval bombardment allied pilots could not properly identify their targets. To avoid the risk of dropping bombs short on the landing craft nearing the beaches the loads were dropped behind the beach head causing little to no damage. Utah beach was effectively bombed prior to the landings providing decent cover to troops which in turn lead to lighter casualties. This was one of the major failures on DDAY considering the size of the air strike and the planning that went into it.
Remove the air filter housing cover. The air filter will lift out. Drop the new air filter into the housing and replace the cover.
